We have three boats: the Manhattan Mermaid (up to 8 guests, great for intimate celebrations), the Hudson Star (up to 12 guests, ideal for mid-size parties), and the Skyline (up to 30 guests, perfect for larger groups who want a full party atmosphere). Group size is usually the biggest deciding factor, but budget and vibe matter too — reach out and we’ll help you find the right match.
All boats depart from Chelsea Piers in Manhattan. Skyline includes HDTV and Starlink satellite WiFi. All will have amazing crew. We’ll help you match the right vessel to your headcount, event type, and budget.
Most birthday charters run 2 to 4 hours. Sunset departures (roughly 6–9pm May through September) are the most popular — you get golden hour light over the skyline, city lights on the way back, and a natural arc to the evening. Afternoon charters work well for family groups or daytime celebrations, and morning charters are a popular choice for mimosa-and-brunch-style birthdays.
Big Apple Charters is BYOB-friendly — you bring your own food and beverages, which keeps costs down and lets you customize the spread. Many birthday groups have a charcuterie setup and a cooler of drinks. We can also arrange catering if you’d prefer to outsource that. Common add-ons include custom decor, photography, and floral arrangements.

Pricing depends on the vessel, duration, and day of week. The Manhattan Mermaid starts at $300/hr, the Hudson Star from $500/hr, and the Skyline from $1,250/hr. Most birthday charters run 2–3 hours. Yes — Big Apple Charters is optionally fully BYOB and BYOF. Bring champagne snacks, a full catered spread. Many birthday groups bring drinks of course - we will put them on ice for you. We just ask that everyone drinks responsibly and avoid red drinks that can stain.
Absolutely. Banners, floral arrangements, custom decor — all welcome. Many birthday groups bring decorations to set up before guests arrive. We can also connect you with vendors who specialize in yacht party decor if you’d like a more polished setup.
The season runs May through October, with summer weekends booking up fastest. Sunset charters in June, July, and August are the most popular for birthdays — the light is spectacular and the weather is reliably warm. Spring and fall charters are also beautiful, with cooler temperatures and dramatic golden-hour skies.
